New site for BITZER Japan

Nearly twice as much space as before: the BITZER Japan K.K. team has been working at a new office in the centre of Osaka since December 2018

2.7 million residents and seventh place among the world’s leading metropolitan regions: Osaka, the Japanese city on the coast, is one of the most important economic and cultural regions in the country. BITZER Japan K.K. has been based here since 2012 and looks after customers in the Land of the Rising Sun. Managing Director Ferdinand Spannan and his five employees would like to achieve annual sales of around €3.7 million and offer further services by 2020. In order to do that, they need one thing above all else: more space to grow.

Nearly twice as much space to work in

BITZER Japan has found this space in a new building in the centre of Osaka. Rather than the 187 square metres it once had in the northern part of the large city, as of 12 December 2018 the team now has 339 square metres and two storeys of space to work in. The first floor alone measures 160 square metres and comprises an open space, an office for the management, a meeting and training room, and a kitchen. The warehouse, workshop and an office for service employees are located on the ground floor of the new building.

‘We began with the planning and interior of the building in July of last year,’ reports Ferdinand Spannan, Managing Director BITZER Japan. ‘We renovated the new spaces between October and December and started the move in mid December. Our colleagues at Master Green Point Asia-Pacific, in particular, were a great help. For instance, we had special Green Point tools sent from Singapore to Osaka in February 2019. New cranes, worktables, measuring instruments and other equipment were provided by local manufacturers in Japan.’

Simpler logistics and new services

In the future, the BITZER subsidiary will be further expanding its service portfolio at the new sales and service centre and offering new repair services such as compressor repair and error analysis. The new site also has a larger, more usable storage space which enables more efficient collaboration with Japanese logistics partners and users. In the first quarter of this year, BITZER Japan will also be hiring a new sales employee and a new service mechanic to further support growth at the Japanese site.

Anyone who’s curious to see the new headquarters can look forward to an opportunity to do just that: BITZER Japan is organising an open day in Osaka for June 2019.
