Comment function on this website

When using the comment function on this site, information regarding the time at which your comment was published (date and time), the username you have selected and your email address are stored along with your comment itself. However, your email address will not be published.

Length of time for which comments are stored

Comments and the corresponding data are stored and remain on our website until the content on which was commented is fully deleted or until comments need to be deleted for legal reasons (for example, offensive comments).

Legal grounds

Comments are stored on the basis of your consent pursuant to point (a) of Article 6(1) GDPR. You may revoke the consent you have provided at any time with future effect. An informal email making this request is sufficient. The legality of the data processing already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

We can also share your personal data with our service providers inside the EU, where the service providers help us process your enquiry in line with our instructions (e.g., IT service providers).

We will only process and store your personal data for as long as necessary to comply with our legal and contractual obligations. When the processing of the data is no longer necessary, we will erase the data without undue delay.

You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of personal data concerning you which is based on point (e) or (f) of Article 6(1) GDPR.

We will no longer process the personal data concerning you unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms or the processing is for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

 

Pursuant to Article 7(3) GDPR, you are entitled to withdraw consent that you have granted to the processing of your data at any time. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

 

Under Article 77 GDPR, if you believe that the processing of your personal data is violating statutory regulations, you are entitled to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority that has jurisdiction over us. The supervisory authority that has jurisdiction over us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information for Baden-Wuerttemberg.

Under Article 32(1) GDPR, we and our processors have implemented suitable technical and organisational measures in order to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk, taking into account the state of the art, the costs of implementation and the nature, scope, context and purposes of processing as well as the risk of varying likelihood and severity for the rights and freedoms of natural persons.
